Just like the mighty oaks flanking their home, the homeowners need for space developed with their growing family. Their original 1939 Cape with its two tiny dormers was charming, if a bit lonely, on its wide, quarter acre lot. With a fourth child on the way, the couple longed for the convenience of an attached garage, mudroom, a master bathroom to call their own and more upper level bedrooms. The designers satisfied the family’s needs by adding nearly 1,500 square feet between three levels. On the exterior, an expanded gable and wraparound porch strengthens curb appeal while balancing the broadened facade.
